Ground Zero Mosque Imam: "Had I Known This Would Happen We Would Never Have Done This"
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said that if he knew how controversial the project would be, he “never would have done this – not have done something that would create more divisiveness.”
Rauf says he must go ahead with the proposal because "national security now hinges" on it.
