Lieberman Being Coy

If he wasn't in strong contention, perhaps Lieberman wouldn't be so coy about it:

Lieberman, who in the past has all but ruled out becoming McCain's running mate if asked, said today that the decision is McCain's alone.

"The rest of us, particularly those of use who are privileged to be his friends, ought to take a temporary vow of silence," Lieberman said after addressing a business group.

When pressed, Lieberman seemed to hint that his new vow of silence does not signify anything but giving McCain some political space.

"I don't expect the offer will be extended to me, but I'm going to continue my vow of silence about any hypotheticals," Lieberman said.

Spoken like a man who's clearly in the running.
