Spotted in Truth or Consequences

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder were in Albuquerque yesterday to announce the administration's new counternarcotics strategy. Heath Haussaman noted the absence of Gov. Bill Richardson, a one-time Obama appointee himself.

Apparently, previous commitments kept him from attending. Haussaman notes that Richardson was in the town of Truth or Consequences to announce “the name of the State Parks employee receiving the Western States Officer of the Year Award by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators" and to receive a briefing from US Customs and Border Protection.

Holder avoided questions about the federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving the Richardson administration.
