Godwin law alert

One of the Democrats vying to succeed Rahm Emanuel in the House is invoking the Nazi regime to criticize his primary opponent.

Physician Victor Forys accused Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley of lying about his record as a reformer — and pulled out a quote from, all of people, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda, to make his point.

“The Minister of Propaganda for Germany in World War II said: ‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will come to believe it,” Forys said in a press release. “Commissioner Mike Quigley is telling a big lie, and he is repeating it over and over again.”

Needless to say, Forys probably won’t be winning much support from the Jewish community, which makes up a sizable share of the Democratic vote in Chicago-area 5th Congressional District.
