Meg Whitman on the Hill

Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman hasn't yet announced if she's going to jump into the California gubernatorial race, but if her moves yesterday were any indication, it's very likely.

Whitman was on Capitol Hill today to discuss with House Republicans to testify at a hearing on the economic stimulus.

But ahead of a campaign announcement that is expected to come in the next few months, aides said Whitman had an opportunity to network with the Golden State politicos just too good to pass up.

First came a closed-door lunch with the California GOP House delegation, with Whitman discussing her ideas about how the party can be strengthened in the months to come, according to one aide familiar with Whitman's presentation.

Aides said Whitman provided an early glimpse into her campaign, comparing her experiences running eBay with running a large government.

Over the course of the day Whitman also met privately with GOP Reps. Kevin McCarthy, David Dreier, Ed Royce, and Mary Bono Mack.
