Primary Showdowns Tomorrow

Tomorrow, voters in Georgia, Missouri and Kansas head to the polls to pick nominees for a number of contentious November showdowns.

In Georgia, a runoff will decide the Democratic nominee against Senator Saxby Chambliss, who has a wide lead over both his potential foes according to recent polls.

In Missouri, Governor Matt Blunt's surprise retirement has Rep. Kenny Hulshof and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman running an increasingly bitter GOP primary campaign to face likely Democratic nominee Jay Nixon in November. Nixon has a lead over both his opponents. An equally ugly Republican House primary has Democrats hoping they can steal Hulshof's Congressional seat.

And in Kansas, conservative former Rep. Jim Ryun and moderate State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins face off for the right to go against one of the most endangered freshmen Democrats, Rep. Nancy Boyda, two years after Boyda's upset win over Ryun.
