Northup, campaign manager part ways

Could former GOP Rep. Anne Northup be operating her campaign against Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) without a full-time campaign manager?

That seems to be a distinct possibility after she parted ways with 24-year-old campaign manager Scott Will, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

[Campaign chairman] Ted Jackson said the campaign doesn't know if it will appoint a new campaign manager or rely on existing staff or volunteers to fill the role.

"We have four or five people who are always on [campaign conference calls], involved in planning and strategy," he said. "We've never had a campaign where the campaign manager did everything."

In an interview with Politico, Jackson downplayed the shakeup, adding that several others on staff have experience managing her past campaigns. But it’s not encouraging for one of the GOP’s leading recruits to be replacing her campaign manager with just three months to go until Election Day.
