MSNBC: Incorrect Rand Paul Transcript "Technically Correct"

In the official transcript for Rand Paul's (R-KY) interview with Rachel Maddow, MSNBC made it look like Dr. Paul answered "yes" that he is in favor of racial discrimination. Here is how MSNBC has the transcript printed:

MADDOW: Do you think that a private business has the right to say we don't serve black people?

PAUL: Yes. I'm not in favor of any discrimination of any form.

This caused the NY Times to falsely report the following:

Asked by Ms. Maddow if a private business had the right to refuse to serve black people, Mr. Paul replied, "Yes."

ABC News also falsely reported on Dr. Paul's response.

MSNBC's false transcript also caused the AP and the Washington Post to incorrectly report what he actually said.

Who knows how many other media outlets incorrectly reported the story and falsely reported Paul as a racist.

Here's the kicker. On Friday, a host filling in for Rachel Maddow brought up the error in the transcript. However, instead of correcting it (which he did) and apologizing, the guest host said their transcript was "misleading" but "technically correct." Watch:
