Rep. Ric Keller (R) was surprised by how close his 2006 election was. He was forced to spend more than 5 times as much on the race as he had in 2004. He has another tough race this year, facing Alan Grayson (D), who is highly-educated and both a lawyer and successful businessman. A large cash advantage at the last reporting date in early August gives Keller an edge heading into the final stretch.
2006: Keller (R) 53, Stuart (D) 46
2004: Keller (R) 61, Murray (D) 39
2002: Keller (R) 65, Diaz (D) 35
2004: Bush (R) 55, Kerry (D) 45
2000: Bush (R) 54, Gore (D) 46
