Vice President Biden, in an interview with CNN, said that he can't think of a reason to forgo a presidential run and that he will make a decision in the summer of 2015.

Asked by CNN host Kate Bolduan to give a reason why he wouldn't seek the nation's highest office again, Biden replied, “I can’t. … There may be reasons I don’t run, but there’s no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run.”

Biden said he would decide based on whether he considers himself the most qualified person for the job. “That doesn't mean I'm the only guy that can do it. But if no one else, I think, can, and I think I can, then I'd run. If I don't, I won't.”

But with the 2014 campaign already underway, the vice president is focused on his immediate impact.

“There’s some places where I can go in and the president can’t,” he said, responding to President Obama's concession to fellow Democrats that he wouldn’t be helpful in some campaigns. “There are some places where it makes no sense for me to go in or for the president to go in.”

Biden also claimed that “on every major issue, the public agrees between 51 [percent] and 70 percent with the position taken by the president of the United States and the Democratic Party.”

The 71-year-old also shared his opinions about immigration reform. He asserted that “we can get this done” and that  reform “doesn’t take much time.” While he also acknowledged that House Speaker John Boehner is under pressure from his right, Biden believes that “he’ll work his way through this.”

Asked whether the White House would support a bill without a citizenship provision, Biden replied that it is “clearly not our preference.”

“Any bill that passes out of the House has to go through a conference committee with the Senate, which passed overwhelmingly a pathway to citizenship,” he added.
