FOX News Channel finished 2012 as the most-watched cable news channel, according to Nielsen Media Research. 2012 marks the 11th consecutive year FOX has led among both total viewers and adults ages 24-54.

Additionally, it ranked third in total prime-time viewership among all basic cable networks, trailing only USA Network and ESPN.

FOX also boasts the top 11 cable programs in terms of total viewership, with "The O'Reilly Factor" leading the way. "Hannity," "Special Report With Bret Baier," "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren" and "The Five" round out the top five. MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" came in 12th and was the only show on a network other than FOX in the top 14.

Still, MSNBC did enjoy an 18 percent increase in average prime-time viewership from last year. FOX was up 11 percent and led the way with an average of almost 2.1 million prime-time viewers. CNN averaged 670,000 viewers, down 3 percent from a year ago.
