Brown Leads Warren in New Massachusetts Poll

By Kyle Adams - September 20, 2012

Massachusetts Republican Sen. Scott Brown leads Democrat Elizabeth Warren by four points, according to a new UMass/Boston Herald poll.

Brown has 49 percent support among likely voters while Warren has 45 percent. The candidates meet Thursday night in Boston for their first head-to-head debate.

The survey comes on the heels of several recent polls showing Warren taking a lead over the incumbent in the wake of the Democratic convention. Warren led by five points in a WBUR/MassINC poll released Wednesday and by four points in a Suffolk/7News poll released Tuesday. Warren currently leads by 2.6 percentage points in the RCP Average.

The UMass/Boston Herald poll was conducted among 497 likely voters from Sept. 13-17. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.5 percentage points.
