Pro-Palin Film to Premiere in Iowa on Tuesday

Sarah Palin's nationwide bus tour may be on hiatus, but the former Alaska governor will nonetheless be on display in the nation's first voting state of Iowa on Tuesday.

"The Undefeated," a two-hour pro-Palin documentary produced by conservative filmmaker Steven K. Bannon, is set to premiere in Pella -- about 40 miles southeast of Des Moines.

The film will be shown at the 111-year-old Pella Opera House, an approximately 300-seat venue near the center of the quaint Iowa town, at 5 p.m. Central Time. Palin has been invited to attend the premiere but has not yet indicated whether she will do so.

On Wednesday, RealClearPolitics reported that Palin's heavily hyped "One Nation" bus tour had taken an extended pit stop after a one-week jaunt up the East Coast, while the former governor and her family have remained in Alaska.

Palin subsequently confirmed in a post on her Facebook page that the bus tour had indeed been put on hold, but she pushed back against media reports that suggested she had "quit" the endeavor.

"The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan," Palin wrote. "The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions -- certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up."

The Tuesday premiere of the "The Undefeated" will come just a day after Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann officially announces her own candidacy in Waterloo, Iowa, where she was born.

For her part, Palin said earlier this month that her decision on whether to enter the 2012 race was still "weeks away."

Bannon had previously indicated that he intended to premiere his film in the other early voting states on the Republican primary schedule, but plans have not yet been released on potential screening dates in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

According to a Victory Film Group and ARC Entertainment press release, "The Undefeated" will continue its national debut in 10 cities during the week of July 15 with additional plans to be determined regarding a more extensive release.
