McDonnell Stops by New Media Strategies

By Erin McPike - August 26, 2010

Virginia Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell zipped into Arlington on Wednesday afternoon to welcome the expansion of the Beltway firm, New Media Strategies.

For McDonnell, the visit was geared toward congratulating the firm on creating new jobs in the state. Since January, the firm has added 40 new positions, for a grand total of 110.

McDonnell made the trek to push his winning campaign theme of job creation - but he may get a boost as his name is tossed around in political circles in the next few years.

CEO Pete Snyder, a former pollster for Rudy Giuliani, said he's known McDonnell throughout his rise in the Commonwealth's politics. And top officials at GOP party organizations have warned reporters to pay close attention to the governor in the next several years, as they suspect he'll move into the national spotlight soon.
