Good First Step, Augusta. Keep Stepping.

A dozen years into the 21st century, Augusta National Golf Club on Monday took a step — two, actually — to enter the 20th: Officials of the storied and gorgeous Georgia course have welcomed two women to the roster of some 300 members. When the home of the Masters Tournament begins its new season in October, ex-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore will receive their green jackets.

This being 2012, we're perplexed that it's news to see women accepting invitations to join organizations for which gender isn't a logical qualification (think Girl Scouts). This is, nevertheless, historic, so we'll celebrate and then ask a question about the future.
