July 24, 2008According to the Almanac of American Politics, Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), has only once received less than 60% of the general election vote (59% in 1994). This fall, the 82-year old Dean of the House seeks his 27th term against Republican John Lynch. The seat is a safe seat for Democrats . In 2006, Dingell did not even face a GOP opponent and won 88% against third party candidates. In 2004, he defeated Republican Dawn Reamer 71%-27%.
Given this electoral dominance, it's surprising that he's airing ads in the Metro Detroit area. Above is one of them, and you can find three more here.
