This past week former U.S. President Jimmy Carter met with Hamas officials in Syria. This summary of his trip says that Hamas told Carter it is willing to transfer an IDF prisoner to Egyptian custody and that they are willing to recognize Israel and accept a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
