Yesterday, Michelle Obama and Teresa Heinz Kerry spoke to a crowd at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Michelle Obama was particularly critical of people who challenge her husband's toughness.
"People say 'is Barack tough enough to handle the Republicans?'... Do you know where we live? ... Illinois politics is some of the meanest, toughest politics."
