The Gallup organization compares numbers from 1992 and 2008 about how Americans feel about independent candidates. They find that Americans are much more satisfied with the field of candidates than they were with the candidates in 1992.
Also, with the "State of the Union" on January 28, The Gallup organization finds that Americans are more optimistic than they were a year ago. However, they aren't exactly sure why people are.
