Gallup has been measuring Congressional job approval since the 1970s and they're the lowest since then, tying 1992's 18% approval rating. It was 19 percent in 1979 -- during high inflation, gas station lines, and the Iranian hostage crisis. Even three-quarters of Americans disapprove of the job their own elected representatives are doing . These numbers span party ID.
