Romney, talking about how to balance the budget in his 1994 Senate debate, says farm subsidies should be reduced. The Sioux City Journal reports Romney's campaign response: "Gov. Romney believes that investing in agriculture is key to our economy and families. America's farmers not only provide food for the dinner table, but they will play a critical role in lessening our reliance on foreign sources of oil."
