Barney Frank Lashes Out At Media And "Gotcha Questions" In Interview
On NBC's "Today Show" this morning retiring Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) got confrontational with anchor Savannah Guthrie over the reason why he is leaving the House of Representatives.
When the anchor asked if Frank was leaving Congress due to the change of "tone" in Washington or if he is admitting defeat, the Congressman began to unravel.
"You exemplify what I think is a change in the tone," Rep. Frank told Guthrie. "You’ve managed to ask all sort of negative questions, and I understand that’s the media's current conception of control. It didn’t used to be that way," he said.
"It’s gotcha this, it’s gotcha that. It’s gotcha journalism. It’s gotcha politics," Frank also said.
