Obama Calls Young Man "Well Informed" For Saying Wealthy Need To Pay Fair Share
QUESTIONER: "Hello, my name is Eric Palmer and I go to Augustana College."
Obama: "Great school!"
QUESTIONER: "Yes, it is. First of all, I just want to let you know of one thing: I am not disappointed in you like Michele Bachmann wants everyone to believe."
Obama: "Thank you! I appreciate that."
[cheers]
The college student then goes on to ask a wonkish question about the cost of living adjustment (COLA) and being taxed past the first $107,000 you earn for Social Security.
He concludes his question with: "Can we look forward to you telling the Republicans 'that it's time the wealthy pay their fair share.'"
"Well, first, this is a very well informed young man here," Obama told him.
FOX News' White House reporter Ed Henry reports the questioner was wearing a tag that said "volunteer" on it.
