Axelrod: Lack Of Private Sector Hiring Due To "Problems In Europe"
White House adviser David Axelrod explains President Obama's opposition to Proposition 8 in California while also opposing same-sex marriage. Obama does "oppose" gay marriage but supports equality and civil union, Axelrod said. He also told MSNBC Obama believes marriage is up to the states, but he still opposed Prop 8.
Axelrod also explains why the public is not being told about how we're paying for the extension of some of the Bush tax cuts.
When asked about how the administration continues to spend without offsetting it, Axelrod says these are "emergency" expenditures.
Axelrod attributed the lack of private sector hiring to the "problems in Europe and Greece."
"That affected worldwide markets and you saw retrenchment and caution that flowed from that. We have to keep plugging away and give incentives to invest and encouragement to invest," Axelrod said.
Axelrod says that the Obama administration believes Michael Bennett (D) will win the US senate nomination in Colorado.
