Sen. Graham: Steele's Comment Was "Uninformed, Unnecessary And Unwise"
"Leaving Afghanistan is about America being safe and we can't leave this country in chaos, we'll never be safe. This is not just some place on the map, this is the place where 9/11 was planned and executed. If the Taliban ever come back and take over all or part of this country we'll never know peace," Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on "Face the Nation."
Sen. Graham says Afghanistan is not "Obama's war."
The South Carolina Republican is strongly condemning that comment from Republican Party chairman Michael Steele. But Graham isn't demanding that Steele resign.
Graham tells CBS' "Face The Nation" that Afghanistan is "America's war" and that the U.S. needs to have a military presence there for national security reasons.
Graham calls Steele's comment "uninformed, unnecessary [and] unwise."
