Gen. Petraeus: Obama's Afghan Withdrawal Timeline Does Not Mean Turning Out The "Lights"
Gen. David Petraeus: "The greater urgency was highlighted by the President announcing the intent to begin a process in July 2011 of transitioning tasked Afghan forces and officials in the beginning of what the President termed a responsible draw down surge forces. With the pace of both the transition of tasks and the draw down of forces to be based on conditions on the ground. It is important to note that the President's reminder in recent days that July 2011 will mark the beginning of a process, not the date when the US heads for the exits and turns out the lights.
