Day 44: Matthews Still On Quest To Find Anti-Limbaugh Politician
You would think after forty-four days (who is still counting, anyway?), Chris Matthews would give up. But, no, he continues his crusade to find a conservative/Republican politician that will bash Rush Limbaugh on air.
There are only two conclusions I can come to: (1) No Republicans or conservatives watch his show or (2) no one watches his show. I'm guessing it's more likely to be the latter.
Instead of having on a GOP politician, Chris Matthews has on liberal columnist David Corn for a six-minute segment haranguing Limbaugh. During the interview, Matthews played MSNBC's infamous B-roll of Limbaugh getting pumped for his speech at CPAC several years ago.
Maybe Mr. Matthews would have more luck having politicians on that support Mr. Limbaugh and defend his positions. However, that wouldn't fit the narrative of his channel.
At the end of the segment, Matthews begs his (conservative viewers) to "please come on this show and end this gambit of ours." Well at least he is being truthful and calls his plea a "gambit."
