Specter Makes Final Election Plea, Bashes Tea Party And Gold Standard
Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) says the tea party has "taken over" the Republican party platform.
"They want to eliminate the Department of Education. We know what happened to Bennett [in Utah], what happened to Crist [in Florida]," Specter said.
"They want to go back to the gold standard," Specter bemoaned.
Arlen Specter says he will support Joe Sestak if he is the winner in the primary. "It's not going to happen [him winning], but of course I'll support him," he said.
Specter complained that his opponent Joe Sestak called him a "dead man walking." He says it was a low blow at the "ankles," referring to his previous health issues. At the end of the interview he looked at the camera and pleaded with citizens to vote for him.
