This morning on the Senate floor, Sen. Jim Bunning increased his objection count to a bill with a short-term extension for unemployment benefits and COBRA to twelve. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid responded, saying, "What is a filibuster? A filibuster is a freebooter...A freebooter is one who engages in unauthorized and irregular warfare against foreign states, pirate craft. And in the United States to obstruct progress in a legislative assembly, the practice of obstruction. That's what this is all about, [the] practice of obstruction. We are not preventing a vote. We want a vote to take place."
