Thompson To Sanford: "Don't Wallow"

POLITICO: "I'm not the one to cast the first stone and not many of us are blameless as we go through life," began Thompson, who was divorced in 1985, before he entered the Senate. "But I don't have any sympathy in a situation where you got a wife and four fairly young kids."

"Do it on your own time and do it on your own dime. Don't play it out in public don't do press conferences and wallow around in it," Thompson said on his Fred Thompson Show. "If you're going to play out your midlife crisis...try not to do it as a part of a career in public office, because everything is exacerbated," he said. "When you screw up, your family is hurt more." "You can't have your cake and eat it too," he concluded.
