February 07, 2009Senator John McCain addressed the Senate floor this evening and was visibly annoyed with the latest version of the stimulus bill. McCain mentioned recent legislation such as TARP I, Tarp II and the current national debt as reasons to vote against the current bill. The Senator from Arizona assailed Senate members who inserted pet pork projects in the bill. McCain called the stimulus package "a Christmas tree done by appropriators." He went on to say that there are three kinds of Senators in the US Senate; Republicans, Democrats and "appropriators."
The Senator finished by warning his colleagues "if this legislation is passed, it will be a very bad day for America."
