Is Clinton Making A Final Push?
The political world is abuzz today with reports that Hillary Clinton could push for a convention vote in Denver. Both the Clinton and Obama camps released a joint statement promising to "ensure that the voices of everyone who participated in this historic process are respected and our party will be fully unified heading into the November election."
Whatever that means, the question on everybody's mind today is: What does Clinton plan to do? It seems unlikely that she'll contest Obama for the nomination, no matter what concerns are now growing about the presumptive nominee among Democrats. Why? Because she'll probably still lose and would only endanger whatever political future she has.
So maybe Clinton's eyes are set on the VP slot, in effect blackmailing Obama to put her on the ticket. The deal? Clinton promises not to make a ruckus at the convention if Obama picks her.
