Is 3rd Time the Charm for Bayh?

He's always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But maybe this is Evan Bayh's year. This piece in today's Louisville Courier-Journal runs down the skinny on Bayh's chances. Professor Alan Abramowitz of Emory University is quoted as saying he thinks Bayh would be a "great choice" and bring gravitas and national security credibility to the ticket. On the other hand, Professor Gerry Pomper of Rutgers thinks Bayh lacks that one vital ingredient all VP picks must have - the killer instinct. Pomper told the paper, "The running mate has to debate the opponent and stir up the troops where Obama doesn't go. It doesn't seem to me Bayh is a great candidate for that... The reaction to Bayh would be ho-hum."

So what do you think? Is Bayh the right choice for Obama? Email me.
