Ark. woman whose 3 kids drowned to change plea

Chuck Bartels

Prosecutors say they've reached a plea agreement with an Arkansas woman who drove into a lake during a nighttime thunderstorm, killing her three young sons.

Amber Turley, of Conway County, is due in court Tuesday for a change of plea hearing.

Prosecutor Tom Tatum said Monday that his office reached a tentative plea deal with Turley. He declined to disclose the terms.

The public defender office, which represents Turley, did not respond to a phone message seeking comment.

Turley pleaded not guilty to three counts of felony child endangerment for the April 19 deaths of her sons, who ranged in age from 2 to 8 years old. Prosecutors say Turley smoked marijuana at a party before getting into the car that night.
