Authorities say a teacher accidentally backed her SUV through a window and into her classroom at a suburban Detroit school. Several preschool students were injured but none seriously.
Village of Franklin Police Chief Patrick Browne says the Huda School & Montessori teacher was trying to park her SUV Tuesday morning and hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.
Browne says six of the 17 students were injured, and four went to a hospital. Injuries were primarily cuts and bruises, though one may have a broken nose.
Principal Azra Ali says the students were eating a snack at the time, and another teacher was in the room. Bookcases and shelves along the window likely helped prevent serious injuries.
Franklin is about 15 miles northwest of Detroit.
