The one-time lover and former chief of staff to ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has found a job and will be moving from Detroit in the coming days.
Defense attorney Mayer Morganroth says a judge has given Christine Beatty permission to leave.
Beatty still is serving five years' probation as part of her plea to obstruction of justice following perjury charges and a text-messaging sex scandal involving Kilpatrick.
Morganroth would not name the city or state where Beatty will relocate but says she will be consulting on business entities.
He said Thursday that friends outside Detroit found her some work, "not enough to support herself yet, but at least it's something."
Beatty has not worked since her release from jail in March.
