Authorities have raised the confirmed death toll in the Los Angeles commuter rail disaster to 25 and expect it to rise.
A spokeswoman for the USC Medical Center says a 50-year-old man transported to the hospital from the wreck died Saturday. She would not release his name.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (vee-yah-ry-GOH'-sah) says the death toll is expected to rise because some of the people most critically injured are not expected to survive.
About 135 people have been hospitalized since a Metrolink train collided with a Union Pacific freight train Friday afternoon. At least 80 of them were listed in critical or serious condition.
