A man is going to prison for shooting a 7-year-old Detroit girl who took a number of bullets aimed at her mother.
Prosecutors say Calvin Tillie was sentenced Friday to 25 years to 60 years in prison on a guilty plea to assault with intent to murder and taking a hostage.
In December, Tillie fired multiple shots after forcing himself into a vehicle with former girlfriend Seliethia Parker and her daughter, Alexis Goggins.
Police say the girl threw herself in front of her mother and was shot at least six times. Alexis survived but needed many surgeries and has an artificial eye. Parker was hit with three bullets.
