Springfield telephone lines for the Illinois State Board of Elections will be out of order Friday and Monday as the agency moves to new headquarters.
Phones will be shut off Friday at 1 p.m. and resume operation at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Telephone and fax machine numbers will remain the same after the switch.
The independent state agency that governs election laws in the state is moving from an office near the capital city's downtown to the near-west side.
Callers may reach election officials at the Chicago office during the Springfield move. The agency's website will continue to provide information and allow political committees to electronically file campaign fundraising disclosure reports.
