Obama to note anniversary of Recovery Act

The Associated Press

President Barack Obama is observing the first anniversary of the signing of the $787 billion economic stimulus bill Wednesday before meeting with his national security team on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Obama will make morning remarks on the Recovery Act and then hold the war council with some two dozen advisers in the White House Situation Room.

The president lunches with King Juan Carlos of Spain. In the afternoon he meets with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and, later, with the U.S. commanding general in Iraq, Gen. Raymond Odierno (oh-dee-EHR'-noh).

In the evening, the president, congressional leaders and middle school students congratulate the astronauts on the International Space Station and space shuttle Endeavour.
