Race Summary
10/28/10 --John Spratt was elected to this rural district in 1982. Since then a lot of yellow dog Democrats have gone on to their great reward, while suburbs from cities abutting the district have started to sprawl inward. The district has trended Republican, while Spratt has cast an increasingly left-leaning set of votes.
Spratt finds himself in real trouble this cycle. He had fallen below 60 percent in a race in a good Democratic year earlier this cycle, and now finds himself well below 50 percent in the polls and trailing his opponent. His goose could well be cooked this time around.
