10/27/10 -- The Democrats have basically conceded this heavily Republican district. But Democratic Rep. Charlie Melancon probably left the seat open for a reason. Louisiana will lose a seat in redistricting, and this one has lost population over the past decade. Landry may well be a one-termer, through no fault of his own.
