Sen. Joe Biden, who is the Democratic vice presidential nominee, is also running for re-election to the Senate. Biden, who is chairman of the Foreign Relations committee, first won election to the Senate at the age of 29 (though turned 30 -- as required -- before taking office).
Democrats now hold the top three elected positions in the state. Although Gov. Ruth Ann Minner is term-limited and unable to run for re-election, Democrats are heavily favored to keep the state's top slot.
