Alaska Senate: Stevens vs. Begich (February 27, 2008) Sen. Ted Stevens has a tough general election ahead of him, with Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich jumping into the ring today. A December poll by Research 2000 showed Begich leading Stevens by 6 points. Stevens, currently under investigation for his dealings with an oil services company, will have a struggle winning over voters who are unhappy with his questionable ethics.
