By Kyle Adams - August 9, 2010

Former New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte continues to hold a double-digit lead over Democratic Congressman Paul Hodes in the race to replace retiring Republican Senator Judd Gregg, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.

Ayotte holds a 51-38 advantage over Hodes, her best showing to date in Rasmussen polling. Republican businessman Bill Binnie leads Hodes by a smaller six-point margin, 46 to 40.

Ayotte, who recently earned the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, will face off against Binnie and five other candidates in the September 14th Republican primary and is considered a heavy favorite to win the nominaton.

The Rasmussen Reports survey of 500 likely voters in New Hampshire was conducted on August 5. The poll has a 4.5 percent margin of error.
