![]() AP Photo In a way, Rick Santorum’s surprising Missouri-Minnesota-Colorado sweep last night is a lot like Newt Gingrich’s win in South Carolina: A victory that reminds us all, once again, that Mitt Romney is a strikingly weak frontrunner, without changing the fact that Romney has a clear path to the nomination and his rivals really don’t. The difference, though, is that Santorum is a stronger anti-Romney candidate than the combustible and compromised Gingrich, with wider geographic appeal (as he demonstrated last night) and fewer glaring liabilities.
